Romans 16:17-20

Romans 16:17) Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

Romans 16:18) For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

Romans 16:19) For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.

Romans 16:20) And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Straight forward and to the point and yet very difficult to do isn’t it.  We live in a fallen world so even though God tells us plainly, ‘DO THIS, DON’T DO THAT.’  We whine and dig in our heels and basically throw a temper tantrum; we each want to choose our own friends, but like children not all of the friends we choose want what’s best for us.  When you choose your friends watch how they treat others; friends, relatives, and animals, ‘Treat others as you wish to be treated.’  Those who delight in the misery of others will reveal themselves through their actions.
