Mark 3:1-6

18 01 2011

Mark 3:1) And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.

Mark 3:2) So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.

Mark 3:3) And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.”

Mark3:4) Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

Mark 3:5) And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

Mark 3:6) Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

God said origanlly that we were to rest on the Sabbath… so doing what is right in the name of the Lord on ANY day is honoring him.  But how often do we just sit on our butts not just any day but every day and think, ‘Oh well if I tithe God will forgive me.’  Yeah that worked real well for the man who wanted to buy the Holy Spirit… God doesn’t want our money, what would the Lord of Creation need with it, he wants us to have where our lives are focused on him and not just on the Sunday… if we’re really focused on him even then, and not looking the part of the faithful Christian, while just waiting for it to end so we can go watch Football. “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
