Romans 5:1-5

7 01 2011

Romans 5:1) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 5:2) through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:3) And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

Romans 5:4) and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Romans 5:5) Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Sounds easy doesn’t is… just having faith during the troubling times… but how many times have we lost our faith when things get hard… when we’re late on the bills, during illness, or a death in the family… ‘how could you do this to me Lord’ I’ve said that more times than I’d care to admit.  We’re quick to lay blame aren’t we… but how many times have you actually thanked God for your troubles… there are only a few people I can think of who actually did it… Job when Satan was testing him, and the others were the apostles after they were beaten by the Pharisees… so just remember the life that we have chosen in serving Jesus is not going to be rainbows and sunshine… it’s going to be hard where we will suffer for simply saying that we believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
