Matthew 8:5-13

31 12 2010

Matthew 8:5) Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

Matthew 8:6) saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

Matthew 8:7) And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

Matthew 8:8) The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

Matthew 8:9) “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Matthew 8:10) When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Matthew 8:11) “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 8:12) “But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 8:13) Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Faith is amazing isn’t it… and it doesn’t take much just absolute faith in Jesus and God.  Sadly that isn’t so easy anymore, our faith now lies in our modern medicine, our modern technology, and we often only rely on faith in the one true God if everything else fails… instead we have faith in men. ‘Oh God everything else didn’t work but I know you’ll help me right.’ Faith doesn’t mean he’ll help you through supernatural means.  It means you ask for his help from the beginning of your problem and keep asking and he’ll see you through your problem till it is resolved.  Most people only ask for God’s help once, ‘Well I prayed for it… it’s in God’s hands now.’ No He said, ‘Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…’ sounds like Jesus want’s us to keep talking to Him doesn’t it.  So trust Him in both big and small things, because in God’s eyes there all small things.

Happy New Year and God Bless You
